يتضمن تعليق فضيلته رحمه الله على فصول من كتاب (زاد المعاد في هدي خير العباد ﷺ) لابن القيم رحمه الله (ت751ﻫ)، لما لقراءة السيرة النبوية الصحيحة من فوائد في زيادة الإيمان وخشوع القلب، وزيادة محبة رسول الله ﷺ، وتزداد به معرفة منهجه في الدعوة إلى الله وتبصير عباد الله، ولفضيلته على فصول من هذا الكتاب تعليقان: التعليق الأول في المسجد الحرام عام (1411ﻫ) –وهو الأوسع والأشمل-، وتضمن فصولا في الحديث عن سيرته ﷺ وغزواته، وكان التعليق الثاني في جامعه بعنيزة عام (1411ﻫ) أيضًا، وتضمن فصولا عن غزواته ﷺ، وبناء على ذلك كان التعليق الأول هو المعتمد في الإعداد، وألحقت إليه الزوائد والفوائد الموجودة في التعليق الثاني
